Kalouniwai marks reappointment with pledge to strengthen RFMF

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has marked the 58th birthday of Commander Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai and celebrated his reappointment for a further five-year term, with senior officers reaffirming their loyalty and support for his leadership.
The celebration, held at the Commander's residence, was attended by officers, warrant officers, RFMF personnel, Fiji's defence partners and members of his family.
Speaking on behalf of the RFMF, Acting Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff Brigadier-General Sapenafa Motufaga congratulated Major-General Kalouniwai on both milestones.

"Sir, as you reach this milestone of 58 years, we, the members of the RFMF, congratulate you and offer our very best wishes as we move forward into another year under your leadership," Brigadier-General Motufaga said.
He also acknowledged the Commander's leadership over the past five years, commending his vision and efforts to transform the RFMF into a more professional and capable force.
"We all look forward to supporting you and reaffirming our loyalty as you lead us through the next five years in achieving your vision for what the RFMF is to become," Brigadier-General Motufaga said.
Major-General Kalouniwai thanked members of the RFMF, Fiji's defence partners and his family for joining him in celebrating his birthday and reappointment.
He also reflected on his years of service alongside RFMF personnel and expressed confidence in the organisation's future.
"I am standing here with a lot of confidence, knowing that I have very professional and competent officers, as well as defence partners who continue to stand alongside us as we reshape, refocus, and recalibrate the RFMF," Major-General Kalouniwai said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to leading the RFMF over the next five years, emphasising the importance of collective effort and continued cooperation as the organisation advances its transformation and strengthens its professionalism and operational capability.
The Commander concluded by reaffirming his commitment to working alongside the men and women of the RFMF to achieve their shared vision of a more capable, professional and future-ready force.
