Nidhi Chaudhary and Josefata Naisali, the head prefects of Natabua High School, aspire to uphold the school’s outstanding reputation established by their predecessors.

The head boy and head girl were among 129 prefects inducted on Friday, tasked with overseeing the school’s 1196 students.

Nidhi said she looked forward to this academic year and working with the student council members.

“Coming in at Year 9, I have been groomed to take on the school leadership areas. Yes, we are ready to work as a team,” she said.

“You must be faithful to the role you have been tasked to perform; the badge that you will wear today is a symbol of the trust that your teachers have put in you to help them look after students in your school,” she said.

“Your role as a prefect will not be easy sometimes. But you must remember to be kind, respectful, and honest in your work. You must aim to be a role model for your fellow students.”

She said the newly inducted prefects would be expected to lead by example.

“Your actions speak louder than words, so by being the first in everything, you’ll earn respect and inspire others to do the same,” she told them.
