Lauren Oliver says she found parliamentary debates interesting and informative as she and other members of the Fiji Special Olympics team witnessed the proceedings yesterday.
The team that has just returned from the Abu Dhabi 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games was invited by the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, to watch parliamentary sittings.
Ms Oliver, 21, is from Lami and she won two bronze medals in swimming at the Special Olympics.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama thanked the team for representing Fiji and said there would be a celebration at Albert Park this Thursday in honour of the team’s accomplishments.
“Most of them got medals, they were a long way from home, so I want to thank them for their participation and we will continue the celebration at Albert Park,” Mr Bainimarama said.
He also treated the team to lunch at McDonald’s.
