Ratu Inoke meets PM O’Neill

The Minister for Defence and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola met with the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Peter O’Neill during the Melanesia Spearhead Group (MSG) summit in Port Moresby on Tuesday.

“Just finished a good meeting with PNG Prime Minister,” he said.

While he did not disclose what they discussed he said one of the gifts given to PM O’Neill was the $7 commemoration note with an explanation of Fiji’s first gold medal win at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Also present at the meeting were

Esala Teleni, Fiji’s High Commissioner in PNG, and Esala Nayasi, Deputy Secretary, Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ratu Inoke is the Fijian representative at the MSG summit

The MSG summit has started and is chaired by PNG.

PNG took over chairmanship from the Solomon Islands.

Meanwhile, the MSG Secretariat, director-general Amena Yauvoli, has thanked the PNG government for hosting the senior officials’ meeting and the leaders’ summit this week.
