Roy Krishna says consistency is the key to winning the Courts Interdistrict Football Championship.

The ATK Mohun Bagan and Vodafone Fijian football captain tips Lincoln Rewa to win the competition which gets underway at ANZ Stadium, Suva, today.

He said: “As much as I would love to see my hometown Labasa win, the Rewa team is the most consistent team this season. From my personal observation I know that the player’s attitude and discipline is very good.

“Their coach (Maika Rodu) is one of the best in the country with a wealth of experience. Also as the national women’s coach he has taken the team to various competitions and that experience add value to any team he goes to.”

Krishna said all teams were coming in full force to win the country’s prestigious football title.

He represented Labasa four times between 2007 and 2011 at the IDC but missed out in 2009 as he was playing in the Australian A-League.

Krishna captained Labasa win the 2011 IDC where they beat Ba 1-0 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

He is currently undertaking quarantine requirements in New Zealand.

He will be cleared on Thursday and will travel to Goa, India next week. Upon his arrival in India he will again take the 14- days quarantine before being allowed to train with his club for the upcoming Indian Super League.
