Last Friday was no ordinary day for Fiji Link staff member, Pau Sirivalu. Because that was the day he got to meet his hero, NBA star Stephen Curry.

He got a photograph with the two-time MVP player at the Nadi International Airport before Mr Curry board the plane for Wakaya Club.

“It was very brief; he’s such a humble guy,” Mr Sirivalu said.

The Naisaumua, Verata, Tailevu native approached the professional basketball player at the tarmac, domestic terminal a few minutes before they boarded the aircraft.

“I went over to him, where he was standing with the wife (Ayesha) and apologised because I know he’s here for vacation and he’s probably tired of photos,” he said.

Mr Sirivalu explained that he was a big fan of Mr Curry.

“He’s a legend, he smiled and said no worries so he gave a signed Curry vest and said he was very much okay with the picture,” Mr Sirivalu said.

Mr Curry plays for the Golden State Warriors and is here with his brother Seth who plays for the Brooklyn Nets. Mr Curry is regarded as one of top basketball players right now, is among the greatest shooters in the NBA history, and is a player who shoots far more three-point shots.

Mr Curry’s sister, Sydel is also here in Fiji, where she has posted a photo on Instagram depicting that she is enjoying a grand time on the island.

Meanwhile, on their way to Fiji on board the national airline, the crew also took pictures with him.
