Teachers Will Be Given One Semester Leave With Pay To Complete Degree

Good news for teachers try­ing to earn a degree.

From next year, teachers who are yet to complete three or four units to attain their Bache­lor’s Degree will be given one se­mester to do so on leave with pay.

The new development to en­hance their career was delivered by the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Premila Ku­mar.

While speaking to teachers in the Western Division last Friday, Ms Kumar encouraged them to keep striving for success.

She said Government was try­ing to do whatever it could for all teachers.

“So, the ball is in your court. It is up to you the direction you want to take,” she said.

-“We intend to introduce, main­ly for those teachers, if you are left with four or three units to complete your degree then we can give you leave with pay for only one semester where you can go and complete your degree."

“Sky is the limit, go for it.”

She encouraged them to make use of the opportunities that were given to them.
