TISA Insurance partners with Leadership Fiji to mark 25 years of leadership development

TISA Insurance (Fiji) Limited and Leadership Fiji have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen leadership development and expand national dialogue as the organisation marks 25 years of impact.

The partnership, described as “twofold” by both leaders, will support Leadership Fiji’s 25th Anniversary Leaders Lounge series and its core leadership programme, which has been running for the past quarter century.

Leadership Fiji chief executive officer Sharyne Fong said the agreement is about building relationships, not just sponsorship.

“For us, it’s about relationships. That’s how we look at our partners,” Ms Fong said during the interview.

“It’s a partnership, but more so a relationship. We welcome them as part of our family of partners.”

Ms Fong said one key outcome of the agreement is strengthening engagement between TISA Insurance and Leadership Fiji’s strong alumni network, built over 25 years.

“Being 25 years in the country, we have a strong and credible brand. We’ve groomed leaders of this country,” she said.

She explained that the partnership will also support TISA Insurance’s outreach, particularly as the company transitions from Capital Insurance to TISA Insurance.

“With their new brand and transition, it helps with their outreach and awareness of their programmes,” she said.

The second part of the partnership will support Leadership Fiji’s core programme — the flagship leadership development course that has been running for 25 years.

TISA Insurance chief executive officer, David Ariff Chan, said the company’s decision to partner was driven by its belief in Leadership Fiji’s long-standing impact.

“For us, it’s about what Leadership Fiji stands for, the vision and the wonderful work done over the last 25 years,” Mr Chan said.

He said members of the TISA team recently attended a Leaders Lounge session and were inspired by stories shared by past participants.

“If you hear some of these people speak and how the programme has transformed them, it’s an amazing programme,” he said.

Mr Chan elaborated that the partnership aligns with TISA Insurance’s own transition and focus on empowering the future.

“At TISA Insurance, leadership is about making courageous decisions. It’s about leading with integrity, with empathy and listening,” Mr Chan said.

While the current agreement covers support for this anniversary year, both leaders hinted at a long-term relationship beyond 2026.
