The Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) has elected Simione Rasova as its new General Secretary, following a majority vote during the party’s management board meeting today.
The party had their meeting at the Tamavua village hall in Suva.
Rasova’s appointment signals a fresh chapter for the party as it prepares for the 2026 General Election.

In his first remaeks, Rasova voiced confidence in SODELPA’s future under the leadership of its youthful party head and the new generation of members stepping forward.
“I hope in my term as General Secretary to take us to Parliament,” Rasova said.
“With this young party leader, with this young team that he’s trying to put together, we’ll make sure we storm Parliament. We’ll storm the elections.”
