Fiji Taekwondo Athletes Qualify For Olympics

This is history for Fiji Taekwondo Association, making them the third sport for Team Fiji to qualify for the Games which will be from July 27 to August 12.

Taekwondo athletes Venice Traill and Irene Mar have booked their spots for the Paris Olympics and Paralympic Games respectively.

This was after the duo won gold medals at the Oceania Olympic qualifiers in Solomon Islands last weekend.

This was confirmed by manager Nimesh Narayan.

This is history for Fiji Taekwondo Association, making them the third sport for Team Fiji to qualify for the Games which will be from July 27 to August 12.

Traill won gold in the 67+kg division while other participants at the qualifiers included Richard Lin who won bronze in the men’s 68kg category, Naitasi Lolohea Navuga won silver in the 67kg while Nipesh Prakash won silver in the 80+kg category.

Other sports that have qualified are the men’s and women’s rugby sevens teams and sailing.
