Netball Fiji (NF) hopes to push the sport to new heights in the next few years.
This was highlighted by NF president Ruby Ann Sorovaki during the launch of their five-year (2023-2028) strategic plan, this morning
"Our game plan in the strat plan proper is to grow, sustain and to perform," she said.
"With those three pillars we want to get out into the district and ensure that we grow the sport, put programmes in place to sustain netball going forward into the future and to perform."
Sorovaki added that sponsorship would pour in if the sporting body is performing.
With plans in place, she is certain that netball will excel in future.
"We have to perform to attract sponsors and partnerships," she said.
"I think with those three pillars, netball is in good hands with the direction it’s going to take in the next couple of years."
The launch was officiated by Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports Rovereto Nayacalevu at the National Netball Centre in Suva.
Nayacalevu said that netball is the heartbeat of the nation that holds a special place in the hearts of Fijians.
"Through extensive research, consultations and collaborations with various stakeholders Netball Fiji has devised a plan that caters to the unique needs and aspirations of our netball community," he said.
"This strategic plan encompasses initiatives aimed at increasing participation rates, enhancing coaching an officiating standard, improving infrastructure and facilities and developing talent pathways and strengthening administrative structures.
"I firmly believe that this strategic plan will ignite a new era of growth and excellence of netball in Fiji."
