The New Caledonia national football side arrive into the country on Friday for a Three Nations FIFA International Friendly.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal confirmed that the New Caledonians are coming in well- prepared for the showdown.
“The New Caledonians are coming with their best players for this competition, “he said.
Pal told Fiji FA Media, that the Mauritius national team would arrive next Tuesday.
“The Mauritius side are also coming with a very strong side. The tournament will be very interesting as the teams play entertaining and exciting football.
“Fans can expect a lot as all teams are well prepared and that includes our national team who are already in camp, “said Pal.
Vodafone Fijian football coach Christophe Gamel says they have a very young side and would do their best in the two matches.
“It’s a challenge for us with two very hard teams but I’m confident we will do our best and we should be proud of these young players.”
Gamel said he had difficulties in getting some of the best players in camp.
“Some players could not joined us due to other commitments but I have been working with whatever players I have in camp,” said Gamel
He said there are many young players which is an advantage to us.
“Some of these players will have chance to rub shoulders against some of the professional and experienced players which is good for the future,”
Gamel said he has worked on our defence and midfield play.
“With the players available I have to find new defenders and midfielders and I’m sure they will do their job next week.
“The mindset is there and they are eager to represent the country which is most important,”
