“There should be no individual play but we should instead play as a team.”

Teamwork within the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team will make anything possible.

This was the view of utility player Suliano Volivoli, as they prepare for the Hong Kong Sevens, which kicks-off tomorrow.

During a Zoom press conference on Thursday, Volivoli said there were some new changes brought in by head coach Osea Kolinisau.

“The Hong Kong sevens is tough,” he said.

“The players have been advised to set their mindset right.

“There should be no individual play but we should instead play as a team.”

The Vatemo Ravouvou-captained side is in Pool A where they face Australia in their pool opener at 9.30pm tomorrow night before taking on Canada and France on Saturday at 12.33pm and 5.45pm respectively.

Fiji Rugby’s newly appointed consultant national programme manager for sevens Gareth Baber was also with the side.

“Preparations have been great, looking forward to the next three days,” Volivoli said.

“Baber is with us in his capacity as a consultant helping in areas that we need help in.”

Kolinisau will name his 13-member side today.
