Team Fiji basketball squad members representing Suva at the 2019 Fiji Games are being challenged by other districts to prove themselves if they want to make the cut for the Pacific Games.
Fiji Basketball development officer Kenneth Taliusaid;
“The inclusion of district level players has really lifted the standard of the competition.
“Most of the district clubs have been giving tough competition to top teams as well as national reps in vying for a spot in the final team.
“Our selection criteria have always been the same as we will be looking at players’ skill level, fitness and how they understand the game.
Result: (women) Fiji Black 38-24 Raiwaqa, USP Two WBD- USP One. Men: Fiji White 41-20 Nadi, Lautoka 37-39 USP One.
Semi-final: Raiwaqa 46 -32 Fiji White, Raiwaqa One 40-21 Fiji Black.
