The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has advised the public that the final asphalting works on the Nausori-bound lane of the Rewa Bridge will continue this evening to complete remaining sections of the project.

The works is scheduled to take place from 8pm tonight until 5am tomorrow.

During this period, both Nausori-bound lanes will be closed between the Lelean Roundabout and the Wainibokasi Roundabout to allow for the safe operation and movement of machinery at the site.

FRA confirmed in a media statement that "Suva-bound lanes will remain open throughout the night to maintain traffic flow".

"Motorists are strongly urged to observe all posted signage and comply with instructions from traffic controllers to ensure the safety of road users and workers on site".

The authority noted that the asphalting works are weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled in the event of adverse weather conditions.

FRA has thanked members of the public for their patience and cooperation as the essential road improvements continue.

For further information, motorists can contact FRA on its toll-free number 5720 during weekdays between 8am and 5pm, or email info@fijiroads.org
