Aside from other public parks in Suva, a popular picnic or outdoor site for families is My Suva Park.

This public park is a great venue for family picnics as there are various sitting areas, benches bures, proper walking trails, picnic areas and a children’s playground.

Located along Queen Elizabeth Drive in Muanikau, My Suva Park was officially opened in 2013, to serve the general public’s need for more areas to do recreational and outdoor activities.

With a small fee, there are also public restrooms available at My Suva Park.

A ticketing officer from the Suva City Council is stationed by the entrance.

Many people choose to visit My Suva Park because of its peacefulness away from the busy streets of Suva.

In addition to this reason is the availability of several sitting areas and spaces to set up a little picnic for the family.

Another feature of My Suva Park is the presence of wildlife species and mangroves that are visible around the area.

Many mangrove planting initiatives have been carried out along My Suva Park by NGOs and organizations that campaign for environment protection.

Environmental protection efforts are visible along My Suva Park where there are also flower gardens and rubbish bins for the public to use when utilizing the park.

In terms of security, there are lights and hired security personnel that patrol around the park.

There is also the Muanikau community police post located near the park area.

My Suva Park is a great place for people to do their afternoon walks, runs as the paths around the area are well maintained.

There are also schools nearby My Suva Park, therefore various traffic control and zebra crossings are in place to caution drivers to slow down.

For those that love to ride bicycles, bicycle lanes are also marked along Queen Elizabeth drive.

To get to My Suva Park, visitors can board the Nasese bus from the Suva bustand or simply catch the taxi.
