The Fiji Chefs Association will celebrate World Chefs Day at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort on Friday October 20.
Association president Pranesh Gounder said the event would be an inter-hotel competition with a prize of $300 for the winner.
The competition features static cake display where invited participants would create and display cakes for judging.

The competition will involve creating a cake in collaboration with Fiji’s participation at the Rugby World Cup 2023.
“It’s a fantastic initiative to bring chefs and culinary enthusiasts together to celebrate this special day and showcase their talents through a cake competition,” Mr Gounder said.
“Such events not only promote creativity but build a sense of community among chefs and food enthusiasts.
“I hope it turns out to be a great success with all your support.”
Plantation Island Resort executive chef Sanjay Nayaj said the event was a great initiative.
Competition schedule:
6am: Event starts when participants set up cakes for display. Cakes can be prepared from the competing hotel and set for display.
8am: Judging will take place after the setup.
9:30am: The official presentation of the winners.
