Let's Go Local: Kokomo Island on Naya's Bucketlist

After graduating from Fiji National University with a Diploma in Laboratory Technology, he chose to stay busy and started with a piggery project. Later he invested in photography.

A Qoma Island native who started his own business, Alabaster Investments, in 2017 has become one of the favourites of Babasiga Town.

Joeli Naya, initially started his company in Labasa and his work has taken him all around the country.

His job involves photograph, videography, and live streaming events, decorations for corporate and social events.

His latest work with the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North has gauged thousands of followers on social media.

After graduating from Fiji National University with a Diploma in Laboratory Technology, he chose to stay busy and started with a piggery project. Later he invested in photography.

Mr Naya has previously worked at the Land Transport Authority as a land surveyor officer, a teacher at Lomawai Secondary School, a sales and marketing officer and a tour consultant with Adrenalin Water Sports in partnership with Westside Motorbike Rentals in Nadi.

Acquiring a Certificate in Information Technology and Office Management from University of the South Pacific in Lautoka, he believes faith in Jesus conquers everything.

A few of the big events he has covered include the Fiji Bitter Marists Sevens, Deans Rugby and Drua’s home games.

SunBiz spoke to Mr Naya about his line of work and travel.

What do you enjoy about your work?

Besides travelling around Fiji, I like to take photos of people, places and events.

While doing my work many are unaware of who is this person behind the camera.
