The Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) has completed an internal investigation and taken disciplinary action against two personnel following an incident involving Fiji Police Force officers in Suva.
The disciplinary action follows the circulation of video footage online showing two off-duty corrections officers, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, berating and obstructing two police officers carrying out a night patrol outside a popular Suva nightclub.
In a statement, the FCS said it viewed the incident with deep regret, adding that the behaviour displayed was contrary to the standards of respect, duty and public trust expected of uniformed personnel.

The Service said the actions of the two personnel undermined fellow law enforcement officers, particularly given the long-standing relationship, shared sacrifices and mutual support between the two organisations in protecting communities across Fiji.
The FCS said mandatory professional conduct training would continue to be enforced for all active personnel.
The training initiative is aimed at reinforcing discipline and preventing further incidents that could undermine respect and cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
The Service did not specify the disciplinary measures imposed on the two personnel.
