Reddy aims for Dux title as Nadogo Central prefects take on new roles

Newly elected head girl of Nadogo Central College in Labasa, Natasha Reddy, is aiming to become the school’s overall dux this year after achieving the highest overall score in Year 12.

Natasha said time management had been critical to her academic success.

“This year is important, and this leadership role is an honour and a privilege. I am grateful for the chance to prove my capabilities,” she said.

She said she felt proud after being chosen as head girl through a school vote.

“Both my parents, who come from a farming background, have supported me at every step. I want to make them proud and provide a better future,” Natasha said.

She thanked her parents and teachers for their guidance and motivation, saying determination and hard work could overcome any challenge.

Head boy Shivnesh Dutt said his experience as deputy head boy last year taught him the value of time management and responsibility.

“This leadership role is not just about wearing the badge; it is about fulfilling our responsibilities. This year, I will give my dedication and passion as head boy,” Shivnesh said.

He thanked his parents and teachers for their encouragement and described the role as a key to unlocking future opportunities.

A total of 75 students were inducted as prefects at Nadogo Central College this week, taking on leadership roles ranging from head boy and head girl to bus and classroom monitors.

School principal Deepak Prasad said each prefect had been assigned specific duties, including year prefects handling classroom responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining student safety.
