The suspect has been questioned and released as investigations continues

A family in Nadi is mourning the loss of one of their own, who died after she sustained serious burns.

The late Salome Iosefo, 38, a security officer, died at the Lautoka Hospital burns ward last Friday.

The postmortem was carried out yesterday and determined that the victim suffered 42 per cent burns to her body area.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro, confirmed the incident took place at Qina Settlement in Nawaka, Nadi two weeks ago.

The victim, who is a mother of three, is alleged to have sustained injuries and burns caused by the partner due to a dispute.

“The suspect has been questioned and released as investigations continues,” Ms Naisoro said.

Ms Iosefo’s brother, David Iosefo, 22, said that his sister was a kind hearted person.

The funeral arrangements are scheduled for tomorrow.
