28-year-old Australian, Brenton Tarrant appeared in court this morning charged with murder after Friday’s Christchurch shooting.

He has been remanded in custody and will re-appear on April 5, 2019.

49 have been confirmed dead by New Zealand Police following the terrorist shootings at two Christchurch mosques.

More than 40 people were hospitalised with a range of injuries. A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition.

The shooter had five weapons including two semi-automatic guns.
