Imam Hafiz Musa Patel has been confirmed as one of the Fijians shot during the deadly terror attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand, yesterday.

Imam Hafiz Musa Patel has been confirmed as one of the Fijians shot during the deadly terror attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand, yesterday.

In the latest list of victims names read outside Christchurch Hospital in the last hour, it included the name of Lautoka Imam Hafiz Musa Patel confirming his demise.

Imam Patel was at the Al Noor mosque when terrorist Brenton Tarrant stormed the mosque shooting and killing 49 people and injuring more than a dozen others.

Fiji Muslim League officials have now confirmed that Mr Patel has succumbed to his injuries.

Mr Patel was a long time scholar and chief priest of Lautoka Mosque.

He was very highly regarded within the Muslim community having dedicated his life to the Lautoka Mosque.
