Fiji Rice Mill Workers Donate Food To Labasa’s Elderly
Fiji Rice General manager Ashrit Pratap said that in 2018 the staff had formed a club and each worker contributed a dollar from their salary to give back to the community.

Staff members of Fiji Rice Limited donated food to the Golden Age Home in Labasa yesterday.
Che Jay Nand, who has been working in the home for 12 years, received the donation.
He said they appreciated donations to support the elderly members of the society.

And they organised community projects such as this.
“At times we get busy with life and don’t have time to do such things, so our staff came up with the initiative to give back to our community members while they are still alive,” the general manager said.
“This is our first project from the money collected by our staff and our next project will be in Dreketi as our mill operator is stationed there with 15 staff.”
The Golden Age Home in Labasa has 30 residents, of which, the eldest is an 89-year-old man.
There are 21 staff members who look after residents and the home.
