Former Fiji Airways Flight Attendant Appears In Drug Case

It was alleged that the accused was involved in the transportation of illicit substances onboard our national carrier.

A former Fiji Airways flight attendant related offences made his first appearance in the High Court in Lautoka yesterday before Justice Sunil Sharma.

The 40-year-old accused Fredrick Epeli, is charged with one count of unlawful importation and exportation and one count of unlawful possession, manufacture, cultivation and supply of illicit drugs.

It was alleged that the accused was involved in the transportation of illicit substances onboard our national carrier.

The alleged incident took place on December 23, 2018 with another suspect where they with unlawful authority facilitated in exporting two kilograms of cocaine and illicit drugs.

The state lawyer has asked for 14 days to file submissions and the defence lawyer Aca Rayawa will give his reply in two days.

The accused is further remanded in custody. The case is adjourned to April 23 for mention.
