Golf Fiji Confirms Date For First Event

Golf Fiji’s first event for the year will be the Islands Electric sponsored Lautoka Golf Club’s 27 holes teams’ championship, set for May 4.
Golf Fiji president, Amitesh Chandra, said the association would pay for the entry fee and lunch for each participating club.
“Team to comprise of four A-Grade players, four B-grade players, four C-grade players and a mixture of four ladies and junior golfers combined,” he said.

“The only cost to clubs will be transportation and uniform should they wish to provide.

He said more details would be sent to all clubs by the weekend.

More event details will be shared in the first newsletter by April 20.
Chandra added that depending on funding, the plan is to get a full-time staff working for Golf Fiji.
The person will be responsible for creating the newsletter, Golf calendar, and regular updates of the game at domestic and international levels.
Meanwhile, Cardo’s and Paradise Lightings competitions are scheduled at the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club and will be played on Fridays and Saturdays.
Last Friday’s Cardo’s winner was Terry Watson.
