A heavy rain alert is now in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and the Lau group.
Situation:
A trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the Northern parts of the group.
Forecast for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and the Lau Group: occasional rain and few thunderstorms.
Isolated heavy falls expected. Possible impacts: - risk of flash flooding of low lying and flood prone areas during persistent localised heavy falls. - risk of flooding of small rivers, creeks and roads. - poor visibility on roads in areas of heavy rain for motorists. - reduced visibility at sea.
