Hundreds Bid Farewell To Late Ex-St Joseph’s Principal Sister Genevieve
She had inspired so many. She had showered ex Students with words of wisdom.

Hundreds of people paid their last respects yesterday to the former principal of St Joseph’s Secondary School, the late Sister Genevieve Loo. Sister Genevieve died on February 27, at the Home of Compassion follow- ing her surgery from a fall she had some weeks ago.
She was 78 years old.
Born on December 8, 1940, Sister Genevieve became the longest serving principal of the all-girls Catholic school in Waimanu Road. Sister Genevieve was a member of the worldwide Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny who focus on education.

Speaking at the funeral service at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Suva, her younger sister Anastasia Seeto said Sister Genevieve was the apple of their family’s eye.
“Her teachings and values are still within us and made us the best people we are today,” Ms Seeto said.
“She had inspired so many of us. She had showered us with words of wisdom.
“She taught us to live in self dignity and acknowledge little things in life.
“She is so special to us and she will al- ways be in our hearts forever.”
She said as a family member, she was overwhelmed by the well wishes and expressions of love and gratitude shown towards them during this time of loss.
Sister Genevieve’s family, friends, well-wishers, loved ones and students of St Joseph’s Secondary School were present at the funeral.
