New Lease of Life for Baby Beniamino

In the midst of lost and despair, Lorima Paul had little faith as he looked for options to save his one-year-nine-month-old baby Beniamino Paul from congenital heart defect.
Along with prayers, Mr Paul looked for options and financial assistance to pay for his son’s heart operation.
The Sai Prema Heart Foundation’s Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital at Nasese, Suva, which conducts free heart surgeries to children, answered his prayers.

Mr Paul who took centre stage on Wednesday during the foundation’s second year anniversary.
He was emotional while expressing his gratitude to the foundation for helping heal his son.
Baby Paul was admitted on April 13, and his operation was successful giving him a new lease of life.
Mr Paul, a casual worker, was worried about the cost of operation.
“Most nights when we go to sleep, I could feel the pain in my son as he tries to sleep comfortably,” Mr Paul said.
“I kneel and pray every day worrying about his life and welfare.”
He said the international standard of service provided at the hospital was beyond his expectation.
“I’m thankful to the doctors and the service providers at the hospital for giving us hope in times of need.”
