Suspended Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forestry, Atelaite Rokosuka.

The fate of the Ministry of Fisheries and Forestry’s suspended permanent secretary, Atelaite Rokosuka, will be determined at the end of this week.

This was confirmed by the Public Service Commission’s chair, Luke Rokovada.

Ms Rokosuka came under the spotlight late last year after allegations were made against her and Fisheries and Forestry Minister, Kalaveti Ravu, for proceeding with the multi-million-dollar wind turbine project without following due process.

The ministry signed an agreement with the investor which would allow Infinite Power Clean (IPC) Energy to invest $123 million in the manufacturing and installation of 27 Ultra-Modern Wind Turbines in locations across Fiji.

Ms Rokosuka was suspended for three months, on February 9 this year.

Her suspension was scheduled to end May 8, but Mr Rokovada told this masthead that any decisions regarding the project and the potential reinstatement of Ms Rokovada will be made later this week.
