Individuals using vulgar language and performing indecent, sexually suggestive moves in their social media videos on TikTok add to the moral decline in society

Youth Pastor and Western Young Alliance president Leone Tagicakibau calls on Government and relevant authorities to take urgent action. 

“Such behaviour is a disgrace to our society and sets a poor example for our teenagers and young people who are watching and easily influenced,” he said. 

“This growing trend promotes moral decay and undermines our cultural and family values.” 

Mr Tagicakibau called on the Minister for Information, the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, the Fiji Police Force, and the Online Safety Commission to monitor and address unruly social media contents.

“Let us work together to protect our children and youth uphold the moral integrity and dignity of our nation,” he said. 

During the Fiji Law Society Convention and 2nd Pasefika Lawyers Collective Conference 2025 in Nadi on Thursday, the Speaker of Parliament, Filimone Jitoko, urged legal officers to remain vigilant, ensuring their legal frameworks protect them from cyber threats and the misuse of digital platforms.
