Vosarogo hails Fiji Muslim League’s century of service

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo joins members of the Muslim community in Ba during celebrations marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Filimoni Vosarogo says Islamic values of compassion, honesty, justice, discipline, charity and equality can help strengthen families, communities and the nation.
Mr Vosarogo made the remarks during the National Milad-un-Nabi celebration at the 4R Stadium in Ba today, where the Fiji Muslim League also marked 100 years of service to Fiji.
The event commemorated the birth of Prophet Muhammad and celebrated the League’s contribution through education, social welfare and community development.

Mr Vosarogo commended the League for growing from humble beginnings into a national organisation providing education and support to people from diverse backgrounds.
He also acknowledged the contribution of Muslim Fijians in agriculture, business and professional fields.
Mr Vosarogo highlighted the community’s charitable work and assistance during natural disasters, economic hardship and the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said Islamic values such as compassion, honesty, justice, discipline, charity and equality could contribute to stronger families and communities.
Mr Vosarogo also stressed the importance of religious freedom and respect for Fiji’s diversity.
He encouraged continued investment in education, ethical entrepreneurship and youth empowerment.
Young people, he said, should value their faith and education while making a positive contribution to society.
Mr Vosarogo said the Fiji Muslim League’s centenary was not only an opportunity to reflect on its achievements but also to renew its commitment to building a united, inclusive and prosperous Fiji.
He congratulated the League on its 100-year legacy and offered blessings for the Muslim community and the nation.
