A married woman appeared before the Nadi Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one count of rape of another woman.

Amele Wabale, 38, who works as a cashier and resides at Transville, Nadi, appeared before Magistrate Peni Daletuicama.

It is alleged that following a night out at a club in Nadi on February 8th, the accused and the complainant went for dinner.

The complainant alleged that later when she was sleeping at a residence in Namaka, the accused allegedly kissed her, fondled her breasts and private parts.

The 25-year-old complainant then reported the matter to police.

The case has been transferred to the High Court in Lautoka and will be called for mention on February 21st.

Magistrate Daletuicama had refused bail and remanded Wabale in custody.
