Francis Bakaniceva won International Secondary School’s two medals at the 2022 Coca-Cola Games at the HFC Bank stadium.
He won gold in the sub junior boys 100 metres clocking 12 seconds won bronze in the 200m with a time of 24.71s.
“I don’t know how to describe winning a gold for my school,” Bakaniceva said.
“I felt very excited. I trained myself for this moment but did not expect it to happen, so I am really proud of what I’ve done.
“I have done so much better than my last outing in the Suva Zone One.”
The Vunimono, Tailevu native shares maternal links to Buretu, Ra.
“My friends told me that I could do it, but I kept thinking of other big schools like Marist Brothers High School, Ratu Kadavulevu School and Queen Victoria School.
“It all goes to God and to my family and friends who have been supporting me.”
