Queen Victoria School headboy Tomasi Seru has set a new record in the senior boys discus.
He threw a distance of 46.29 metres.
The previous record was set by fellow Victorian Josua Serukilagi in 2017 which was 45.88 metres.
Seru was also part of the senior boys 4x100 metres relay team which won silver.
Winning gold in his final year has set an example for the younger athletes.
"I never expected to break a record but only to win gold," the Ketei, Totoya, Lau native said.
"It was a great lead by example for the athletes this year."
He dedicated his gold medal to his parents and all Year 13 students of QVS.
