Konrote to Touch Rugby Team: Be Good Ambassadors of Fiji

The Fijian touch rugby team were reminded by President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konousi Konrote to be good ambassadors of the country as they participate in the 2019 World Touch Rugby Cup on April 28 to May 4.The Fijian touch rugby team presented their i-tatau at the State house in Suva yesterday.
President Konrote said: “As you present the i-tatau, our prayers and well-wishes will come with you, each and every members of the touch rugby team.
“On behalf of government and all Fijians, I would like to congratulate you for making the final cut and being selected to be part of the national touch rugby teams. We thank you for your personal determination, making that perseverance, we thank the hardworking team officials, they ensure that these players will have full potential performing to their expectations to this sports loving nation.
“I also acknowledge the support from respective families and your sponsors.”
Konrote reminded the team to stay focused on the job and pursue their goals with determination.
“As a President, head of state and father of this nation, players I would like to remind you to remain focus and listen to your coaches, play as a team and look after one another,” he said.
“Be good ambassadors on and off the field and always display good sportsmanship and accepting victory in humility and defeat in gratitude and honor.”
