Undefeated Fiji Bula Boys Head For Tahiti

The Ronil Lal coached Digicel Fiji Un­der-19 side has been undefeated in their two-match build up in New Zea­land before they head for the Oceania Foot­ball Confederation in Tahiti.

The side drew 1-1 with NZ in their final match At the McFetridge Park, in Auckland on Tuesday, thanks to the goal scored by Mo­hammed Fatul Rahim in the first half.

The Kiwis replied via a penalty in the second half.

Fiji Junior Bula boys had beaten Auckland City Under-19 team, 4-3 in their first warm up match last week.

Team manager Kartik Reddy said, “This is good build up for the OFC under 19 Champion­ship playing against qual­ity opponents. It was a very physical encounter and the NZ side was very good tacti­cally.”

Reddy had migrated to New Zealand 13 years ago. He had lived in Lautoka.

He managed Team Nadi NZ the last ten years. He managed the Lautoka Fiji in the 2019 Pacific Cup and was also involved with their O-League campaign in 2018.

He was manager of NZFFI All Stars for six consecutive Pacific Cup finals.

The young Fijians depart for Tahiti today.
