Prop Kelasi Ridome scored twice in the first half for Kadavu as beat Cakaudrove 17-15 in the Royal Tea Ranadi Cup grand-final at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, on Saturday.
Kadavu fielded bigger players in their tight five as they took Cakaudrove by surprise.
In the second minute of play, Ridome scored her first try. In the 11th minute winger Filomena Luisa scored Cakaudrove’s first try in the corner with the conversion missing as they tied 5-5. In the 15th minute Ilivena Nai scored Cakaudrove’s second try as they took the lead 10-5 for the first time.

In the 38th minute, Ridome scored her second try to level the scores 10-10 at the breather.
In the 43-minute saw prop Amelia Duikoro scored under the post with flanker Kalesi Deborah kicking over the conversion for a 17-10 lead.
A few minutes Kadavu encountered a setback when full-back Arieta Tanono was flashed the yellow card for infringing.

In the 49th minute, centre Mere Vakananumi scored a try in the corner for Cakaudrove with the conversion missing as narrowed the deficit to 17-15.
One minute before the full-time hooter, Cakaudrove halfback Ilisabeta Moa was flashed a red card for unprofessional play.

Cakaudrove captain Salaseini Raveni said: “It was a grand tough game. We thank our counterpart from Kadavu and also hats off to the girls from Cakaudrove.”
