Basketball Fiji chief operations officer William Peter has highlighted that this year’s Vodafone Cup National Basketball Club Championship (NBCC) has seen a tough competition when compared to previous years.
The three-day tournament got underway at the National Gymnasium, Suva, on Thursday.
“The competition has showed some really interesting games,” Peter told SUNsports.
“I think a lot of close and low scoring games, which shows that the competition is very tight and teams are really prepared for this event.”
Peter said there is intense rivalry between teams and that adds intensity to the competition.
He also acknowledged Vodafone Fiji for sponsoring the competition.
“I thank Vodafone for their support and they have been really supportive in terms of growing the game of basketball in the country,” he said.
Peter has urged supporters to come out in numbers to support their teams.
“Please do come in numbers to witness this basketball competition and come on down to watch the games at the National Gymnasium. You can purchase your tickets through the Vodafone Viti Kart and you can watch all games through the Vodafone play app,” Peter added.
The competition continues today.
