Ba coach Ronil Kumar expects Lautoka to be tough, strategic and playing fast-paced football today.
Ba will face the Blues in the first semifinal of the 2020 Courts IDC at the ANZ Stadium, Suva at 3pm.
Knowing the Blues strategy, a young Ba side will try and upset the experienced Lautoka team.
“To match their capabilities, we will have to sharpen up on our defence and finishing,” he said.
“There is no room to relax because Lautoka will come hard on us and we understand how much our neighbours want to make the final.
“It’s all about doing the small things right from the get go and I believe in my players to get it done.
“We had a lot of chances against Labasa during the pool games but we failed to capitalise, the plan now is try to get the message across to the strikers that we need to finish well and make it count.
“There a few niggling injuries but we are okay and ready for the game today.
“How exciting can the tournament be when two of the best teams in the country go head to head in the semifinals,” he said.
“We are ready for the Blues, a team that we know very well and it’s going to be fast- pace football.
“This side miss the leadership of Abu Zahid in the last two games, he’s coming back today. We will make two or three changes.
“His leadership upfront will be vital in terms of finishing and in defence we have Ilitomasi Jese to guide our defenders.”
