The Extra Supermarket sponsored Bula FC (football club) has announced the signing of 20-year-old defender Isimeli Gavidi on a youth contract for the 2027 OFC Pro League.

Hailing from Natalecake Village in Ba, the youngster takes another important step towards his dream of becoming a professional footballer.

Natalecake, is also the home of former Fiji and Ba star midfielder Meli Vuilabasa.

Gavidi joins the Bula Warriors following a remarkable 2026 season in which he was part of Ba's historic quadruple-winning squad and made his senior international debut for Fiji during the victorious MSG (Melanesian Spearhead Group) Prime Minister's Cup campaign.

"Signing a youth contract with Bula FC is a proud and exciting moment for me," Gavidi said.

"I know this opportunity comes with responsibility; and I am ready to work hard, learn and give my best."

Growing up in his village, Gavidi developed his passion for football at an early age, inspired by the strong football culture and proud sporting traditions of his hometown.

He attended Khalsa Primary School and Vatuyaka Sangam School before continuing his education at Natabua High School and AD Patel College.

"Growing up in Ba has influenced me greatly because football is part of the town's identity; Ba has a proud football history; and being raised in an environment where people are passionate about the game has motivated me to follow my dreams," he said.

Making his international debut was a significant milestone for the young defender, who had grown up dreaming of wearing the national colours.

Jone Loga

Meanwhile, Fiji Under-17 football player Jone Loga has signed with Bula FC (football club) for the 2027 OFC Professional League season.

Born on April 3, 2010 and originally from Tubou, Lakeba in Lau, Loga has been playing football from a young age and is currently studying at Ba Sangam College.

The 16-year-old was part of Ba FCs historic quadruple-winning squad in 2026, gaining valuable experience training and playing alongside some of Fiji's most established footballers.

For Loga, being the youngest member of a championship-winning squad was an experience he will always treasure.

"It was a privilege to be part of a winning team," he said.

"This was my first year with Ba FC, and at 16, I was the youngest in the team."

Loga is also part of the Fiji Ul7 national team preparing to compete at the FIFA Ul 7 World Cup in Qatar.
