Multiple Sexual-Related Offender Gets 15 Years Jail Time

A 57-year-old convicted prisoner who was jailed for a charge of indecent assault for 30 months, has been handed another jail term of 15 years for rape and sexually assaulting his granddaughter.
Justice Vinsent Perera handed down a non-parole period of 14 years before the offender can be eligible for parole.
He ordered that the sentence be served concurrently with the uncompleted sentence.

Justice Perera said it was clear that sexual exploitation of children was rife.
He said protecting Fiji’s children from sexual predators was a priority.
