Three-year-old boy dies in Sigatoka road accident

A three-year-old boy from Kulukulu, Sigatoka, is believed to be the country’s latest road fatality victim following a traffic accident in Sigatoka Town this morning.

Police said in a media statement that the child was struck by a motor vehicle driven by a 38-year-old woman from Sigatoka while he was crossing the road with his grandmother.

The boy was rushed to Sigatoka Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver is currently in Police custody as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident continue.
