FNU Prepares to Inspire Young Minds during Open Day

The Fiji National University (FNU) is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual Open Day, an event that promises to inspire and guide young Fijians in turning their dreams into reality.

This year’s theme, ‘‘Dreams to Reality’’, encapsulates the University’s commitment to nurturing talent and skills and helping even primary school children explore a world of career possibilities.

FNU Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba expressed her excitement about the upcoming event, saying that the FNU Open Day is a platform for young minds to embark on a journey of discovery.

‘‘We aim to show them that their dreams are attainable, and we are here to guide them every step of the way’’, said Professor Nabobo-Baba.

The event, scheduled from October 5-7 at the Naduna, Namaka, Natabua, and Nasinu campuses, will feature interactive exhibitions, career counselling sessions, and presentations by faculty members and successful alumni.

Professor Nabobo-Baba emphasised the importance of early career exploration by stating that it is never too early to start thinking about your future.

‘‘Our Open Day will help primary school children learn about different career choices, enabling them to make informed decisions as they progress in their education.’’

‘‘I am encouraging parents and guardians to come out in numbers with their young children on Saturday, October 7th, at our Nasinu Campus, so that they can have fun, learn and discover the many opportunities available to them.”

The FNU Open Day will begin in the North at the Naduna Campus on Thursday, October 5. Westerners can visit either the Namaka or Natabua campuses on Friday, October 6. The FNU Nasinu Campus will host their Open Day on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7.
