Minister Kiran pays tribute to loyal officer
The Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran yesterday paid tribute to one of her ministry’s late senior welfare officer, Semi Bukarau, who died last week after a short illness.

The Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran yesterday paid tribute to one of her ministry’s late senior welfare officer, Semi Bukarau, who died last week after a short illness.
Ms Kiran led her ministry’s delegation in escorting the late Mr Bukarau on his final journey home.
“It’s a heartbreak farewell of an officer who served our people well. Mr Bukarau’s contributions to the welfare sector were significant, and the ministry is grateful for his dedication and commitment. His death was felt across the communities he served,” Ms Kiran said.

Mr Bukarau, 47, served the Fiji Civil Service for 27 years; where in the past 24 years, worked as a welfare officer within the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection.
The delegation included her Permanent Secretary, Eseta Nadakuitavuki, Commissioner Central, Josefa Navuku and ministry staff members.
