MSME grants move to national database

The Ministry of Commerce has announced that all grant programmes for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been integrated into a new National MSME Database.

The ministry said the centralised and secure online platform will capture key business information, including size, location, employment, sector and challenges.

Officials said the move supports the Government’s digitalisation agenda and is expected to make it easier for MSMEs across Fiji, including rural and maritime communities, to access grants and tailored support.

The ministry said stronger and more reliable MSME data would enable evidence-based policymaking, more responsive programmes and improved coordination between Government, development partners and business support providers.

Applications submitted through the previous online portal before January 5, 2026, remain valid and do not need to be resubmitted.

Government launched Fiji’s first-ever MSME Strategic Plan 2025–2030 on December 16, 2025, alongside the MSME Database, marking a step towards a more inclusive, data-driven and resilient MSME sector.

The initiatives aim to build a stronger and more connected ecosystem to support entrepreneurs nationwide, from urban centres to rural and maritime communities.

Effective immediately, the National MSME Database, accessible through the MSME Portal at www.msmeportal.gov.fj, provides a single online entry point to five major grant programmes administered by the Ministry of Commerce and Business Development.
