Toppers Opens Doors For Pooja

Fiji National University student Shay­al Pooja Lal was the first in her family to be awarded with the National Toppers scholarship (NTS).

Ms Lal, 21, the elder of two siblings from Nadali, Nausori; is a final year Bachelor of Commerce student at the Fiji National University with double ma­jors in Accounting and Management.

Ms Lal completed her Year 13 from Vunimo­no High School in Nausori in 2014.

She said the toppers scheme was a great ini­tiative by the Fijian Government.

“I think that it is good and it provides a sig­nificant opportunity to those students who are willing to study and have a secured future ahead,” she said. “It’s good as it also reduces burden off the family.”
