Woman and child killed in Laucala Beach house fire

A woman and a child died in a house fire at Laucala Beach yesterday morning.

In a statement, Police said officers and firefighters from the National Fire Authority (NFA) responded after receiving a report of the blaze.

The victims, a 48-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, were trapped inside the house. Their bodies were later recovered by officers from the Crime Scene Investigation Unit.

Police and the NFA have launched a joint investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
