The Ba FC suffered a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Auckland City FC in the OFC Champions League Group D opener at Pape’ete, Tahiti yesterday.

The Ricki Herbert coached-side threw everything into the game but poor finishing and the failure of their midfielders to function added to their woes.

City FC lead 3-0 at halftime with goals from Jordan Vale in the 30th minute followed by Emiliano Tade’s double in the 39th and 46th minute.

In the second half Herbert made changes to the line-up trying to find the combination.

Striker Benjamin Totori came close to scoring several times but was held back.

City FC continued the onslaught with goals to Logan Rogerson in the 58th minute,

Mac Bevan making it 5-0 in the 73rd minute before Brian Kaltack sealed it with a classic goal in the 84th minute.

Meanwhile, Cook Islands football champions Tupapa Maraerenga have withdrawn from the Champions League after three players were unable to confirm they had been immunised for measles.
