The Bale Vetaukula captained Ba Provincial Free bird Institute Dragons aim to win the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Under-19 Vodafone Trophy for the third time.
The Delaisaru, Lautoka-based school has played in five U19 finals since its inception in 2007 and won it back-to-back in 2014-15.
They face last year’s losing finalists Naitasiri Secondary School Warriors in today’s grand final at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.
“We will work on our defence but most importantly on our discipline,” Vetaukula told SUNsports.
“Discipline is always key and if we have kept that within the 80 minutes then we are in good hands.
“We also understand that Naitasiri Secondary has been a dominant side in the competition.
“This is something like a repeat of the 2023 semi-final, but in that edition, we lost to Naitasiri Secondary.”
Vodafone head of public relations and sponsorship Adriu Vakarau said the stage is set for the 17th edition final.
“We are thankful to see a school from Ba make the finals for the first time,” Vakarau said.
“We are here to grow the game at grassroots.
“It is good to hear from the association that the sport will be in Vanua Levu in a not distant time.”
